Dr. Lake joined APMG in 2017. Prior to training in Pathology, he attended Grinnell College, Grinnell, IA and graduated with a BA (College of Liberal Arts) and MS (Biostatistics School of Public Health) degrees from the University of Minnesota. He served in US Army Vietnam prior to completing PhD coursework in Biometry and Health Information Systems at the University of Minnesota. He graduated with an MD degree, Southwestern University, Cebu, Philippines, followed by a 5th Pathway Program at Rutgers University, Piscataway, NJ.

Following his pathology training, over the years, Dr. Lake worked as a surgical pathologist in a variety of predominantly hospital setting locations including Silver Spring, MD, Santa Maria, CA, Effingham, IL, Herndon, VA (National Health Laboratories), Anaheim, CA (SoCal Pathology Medical Group), LaJolla, CA (Scripps Clinic Medical Group), Corona, CA, Garden Grove , CA and Placentia, CA. Prior to joining APMG, he was asked to fill in for Dr. Ken Nieberg who was retiring (Temple, Norwalk and LA Community Hospitals).

Dr. Lake has also participated in two online Harvard Kennedy School of Government courses on national security. And after successful left hip replacement surgery, he usually walk at least 5 miles per day.
I was initially attracted to APMG because of the high quality of the APMG histology lab and immunopetoxidase stains along with the expertise of hematopatholgy consultations. Since then I have come to appreciate the expertise, diversity and camaraderie of APMG associates.
