Dr. McWhorter received her B.S. in Biology with Distinction from Stanford University in 1992. Her medical school training was completed at the University of California San Diego, where she was Chapter President of the American Medical Women’s Association. Following her medical degree, she performed health services research for QUERI HIV at the Veterans Health Administration in San Diego from 2000-2001. Her residency training was performed at UCLA, where she was Chief Resident. Her fellowship training includes Gastrointestinal and Liver Pathology at UCLA, and General Surgical Pathology at UCSD. Dr. McWhorter is board certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology. She is a member of CAP, USCAP and ASCP. She has been with APMG since 2006. She lives in Bellingham, Washington; prior to her distinction as an Emeritus member of the group, she has provided coverage at multiple locations, primarily in Southern California. She is the author of four publications.
