Dr. Amin completed an accelerated six-year B.S./M.D. program at Howard University. He completed a combined anatomic/clinical pathology residency and a urologic surgical pathology fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC), which included experience in pathology informatics under the direction of Drs. Anil V. Parwani and Liron Pantanowitz. He is board-certified in anatomic and clinical pathology. In addition to clinical services, he enjoys exploration of information technology and genitourinary pathology, which includes several presented abstracts at the United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology (USCAP) annual meetings. He has authored content for journals including the Journal of Pathology Informatics, Archives of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, Expert Opinion and Pathology - Research and Practice. He also authored performance improvement program (PIP) cases for the College of American Pathologists. Of note, he has a keen educational interest in "making technology work for pathologists" rather than "making pathologists work for technology..."

Formalin fixes a lot of things, but it won't fix what knowledge and experience can... And there's plenty of knowledge and experience in the heritage of Affiliated Pathologists Medical Group.
